Learn what Promoted Jobs are, where promoted listings appear and rotate, and how to manage promotions and track their performance on ClearanceJobs.
ABOUT PROMOTED JOBS
What are Promoted Jobs?
Promoted Jobs is an add-on to the core ClearanceJobs platform that places priority roles in high-visibility spots: the top of relevant search results and candidates' Top Matching Jobs.
Are Promoted Jobs extra job slots?
No. They are not additional job inventory. Promoted Jobs are an add-on to already purchased jobs.
Can any type of job be promoted?
Yes. Manually created jobs and jobs pulled in by the job bot or job collector can all be promoted.
What's the difference between Promoted Jobs Plus (Tier 1) and Promoted Jobs (Tier 2)?

Where do Promoted Jobs appear?
In two places: job search results and Top Matching Jobs on the candidate dashboard (a search run against the candidate's resume).
Where on the search results page?
Positions 1 and 2 on each of the first five pages, depending on how many relevant Promoted Jobs exist at that moment. The default page shows 2 promoted and 18 organic results.
Will a promoted job show up in unrelated searches?
No. A promoted job only appears when it meets a minimum relevance threshold for the candidate's search terms or resume. A candidate searching for a Java engineer should never see a promoted security guard job.
If several employers promote similar jobs, whose job shows?
Jobs rotate within their tier. The job with the fewest impressions on ClearanceJobs is served next, so every promoted job gets consistent visibility and none falls behind.
Does a niche job get the same boost as a common one?
No. Lift scales with how often relevant searches happen. More obscure roles get less traction because fewer candidates search for them.
How do I control which jobs get promoted?
Promote any active job directly from the ClearanceJobs platform. Set the duration, choose your placement, and disable it once the position is filled.
Can customers see their own performance?
Advanced self-serve analytics are available in the dashboard.
