How to sponsor a subcontractor for a facility clearance (FCL)

Obtaining an FCL for a subcontractor.

Sponsorship may be initiated via a letter from the prime contractor with an existing Facility Clearance requesting the particular company be processed. The letter should include a copy of the Contract Security Classification Specification, facility clearance level needed and the requestor point of contact and phone number. Letters will be processed through the Defense Security Service and based on specific work to be completed by the subcontractor.

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) is an agency of the Department of Defense (DoD) with field offices throughout the United States. DCSA provides the military services, Defense Agencies, over 100 federal entities and approximately 13,500 cleared contractor facilities with security support services.
