What did ClearanceJobs release today? This release is named “Quinoa.”
Candidates have been asking for a way to silence messages from recruiters who continue to send unsolicited and non-targeted messages. The Mute Recruiter functionality will allow the candidate to filter recruiters whose content they no longer want to see. This includes messages, both Direct and Broadcast, and Pulse updates from a recruiter for a defined period of time of their selection. The candidate will no longer receive any form of notification for messages from muted recruiters. However, messages sent to the candidate from a muted recruiter will not be lost; they will appear in a new Muted folder in the Messages dropdown list. When the muted time has expired, the messages will appear back in the Messages inbox and Pulse.
The candidate has two options for muting a recruiter. The candidate can click Mute Recruiter from the ellipsis in Messaging.
The candidate can also mute the recruiter by viewing their profile and selecting Mute Recruiter from the ellipsis.
Messages that should have been sent to the candidate will be stored in the new Muted folder located in the Messages dropdown. This will ensure that candidates retain the information should they choose to reengage with the recruiter.
Once a candidate has chosen to mute the recruiter, they can select a period of time for which messages should be muted. Muted terms include: Indefinite, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. After the time frame has expired, the messages will be returned to the Inbox of the candidate.
Candidates will have the ability to unmute a recruiter utilizing the same process from Messages or the Recruiter Profile. Simply click the ellipsis and select Unmute Recruiter. Once the candidate has unmuted the recruiter, the following two actions will happen:
- All content that was not shown in Pulse will be loaded into the Pulse feed as normal
- All messages that were previously stored in the Muted folder will be removed and displayed in the candidate Inbox.
